Claude is Anthropic's AI chat assistant, introduced in March 2023. It handles writing, analysis, research and coding, searches the web, works with uploaded files (up to 20 per chat and 500 MB each) and can create documents and run code. It runs on the web, in desktop apps and on iOS and Android.
The free plan includes web search, memory, voice mode, file creation and up to five projects. Pro costs $20 a month, or $200 billed yearly, and adds Claude Code, Research and more Claude models. Max costs $100 or $200 a month for 5x or 20x Pro's usage. Team Standard seats cost $20 per user a month billed annually ($25 monthly) for 2 to 150 people. Claude does not generate photos or illustrations; it builds diagrams and charts instead. Individual plans offer a model-training opt-out, and Team and Enterprise content is not used for training by default.
Best for
Writers, analysts and developers who work with long documents or code and do not need image generation.
