Grok is the AI chat assistant from xAI, now branded SpaceXSI, first announced in November 2023. It answers questions, writes and debugs code, analyzes uploaded files, searches the web and posts on X in real time, creates images and videos with Grok Imagine and holds voice conversations, on the web and in apps for iOS and Android.
Since October 12, 2026, new self-serve customers buy Grok through The X Subscription, which also covers Cursor and X benefits. Free includes limited chat, voice and image generation. Plus costs $8 a month or $80 a year, and Premium $30 a month or $300 a year, adding video generation and Grok Bot. Super ($100 a month) and Ultra ($200 a month) give 15x and 50x Plus's usage. Team seats start at $30 per user a month. You can stop new chats being used for training in Settings, or use Private Chat.

People who want an assistant that follows the news on X and the web, makes images and videos, and comes in one plan with Cursor and X Premium benefits.

- Limits are a weekly usage pool given as multiples of Plus (4x, 15x, 50x); the pricing page lists no message counts
- API usage is billed separately and does not draw from the plan's usage pool
- Generated images and videos carry a Grok watermark, with no setting to remove it
- Signed-out use cannot be opted out of model training in some regions outside the EU and UK
