Wix is a hosted website builder founded in 2006 and based in Tel Aviv. You start from one of its 2,000+ templates or from an AI prompt, then customize the layout in a drag-and-drop editor. Hosting is included on every plan, including Free, but free sites carry Wix branding and a wixsite.com address.
Paid plans are priced per month on yearly billing: Light $17, Core $29, Business $39 and Business Elite $159. Light covers a simple site with 2 GB of storage; accepting payments and eCommerce start at Core. Wix also includes a CMS with collections and dynamic pages, SEO tools such as a setup checklist, an editable robots.txt and a redirect manager, and Velo for developers who need custom code. Its Pricing Plans app sells memberships from Core, with a 4% fee on Core, 2% on Business and 0% on Business Elite.
Best for
Small businesses and first-time site owners who want to start free with a visual editor and plenty of templates, then upgrade to Core when they are ready to sell.
