Grammarly is an AI writing assistant that checks grammar, spelling, clarity and tone as you type. It works in more than 1 million apps and websites through browser extensions, Windows and Mac apps, mobile apps, Microsoft Office and Google Docs. Founded in 2009, it is now part of Superhuman, the name its company took in October 2025 after buying Coda and Superhuman Mail.
The Free plan fixes mistakes, shows your tone and includes 100 AI prompts a month. Pro costs $12 per member a month billed yearly, or $30 month to month, for 1 to 149 seats. It adds full-sentence rewrites, tone adjustment, plagiarism and AI-text detection, 2,000 AI prompts per member a month, and team tools: one style guide, one brand tone, snippets and analytics. Enterprise adds unlimited prompts and members, SAML SSO and data loss prevention.
Best for
Individuals and teams of up to 149 people who write in many apps every day and want grammar, tone and clarity fixes, plagiarism checks and shared style rules, rather than long-form SEO content.
