Replit is a browser-based platform from Replit, Inc. for building and publishing apps. You describe what you want and Replit Agent sets up the project, edits files, runs commands and tests the result, saving checkpoints you can roll back to. The Project Editor adds a file editor, Shell and Console, with databases and publishing built in. A desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux gives the same experience, and iOS and Android apps let you build on the go.
Free Mode picks the model for you and costs nothing within your plan's allowance. Power and Max modes draw on monthly credits, and on Core and Pro you can pick GPT-6, Claude or Kimi models (model selection is still rolling out). Starter is free. Core costs $20 a month ($18 billed yearly), Pro costs $100 a month ($90 billed yearly) for up to 15 builders, and Enterprise has custom pricing.
Best for
People who want an agent to build, run and publish full-stack apps entirely in the browser, from solo builders on the free Starter plan to teams of up to 15 on Pro.
Pros
- Editor, Shell, databases and publishing in one cloud workspace, with no local setup required
- Free Mode gives no-cost Agent work within an allowance on Starter, Core and Pro, so the free plan can build apps
- Model choice on Core and Pro (still rolling out): GPT-6 and Claude models, Kimi in Max mode, or Auto routing
- Checkpoints capture files, Agent context and database contents, so you can roll back a bad change
- Pro covers up to 15 builders with pooled credits and no per-user fees
Cons
- Power and Max work uses effort-based pricing by request complexity, so the cost of each task varies
- Only Pro can opt out of model training and Enterprise content is never used; Starter and Core have no opt-out
- Starter allows Lite build only, with no Plan Mode or connectors, and its one published app goes down after 30 days
- Core's $20 of monthly credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over
