Hostinger VPS is the virtual server line of Hostinger, a hosting company founded in Lithuania in 2004. It sells four self-managed KVM plans with AMD EPYC processors and NVMe storage, from KVM 1 (1 vCPU, 4 GB of RAM, 50 GB of disk and 4 TB of bandwidth a month) to KVM 8 (8 vCPUs, 32 GB, 400 GB and 32 TB).
Plans are paid upfront for 1, 12 or 24 months. The first term is discounted; KVM 1 then renews at $19.49 a month on monthly billing, $12.99 a month on 12 months or $11.99 a month on 24 months. Every plan includes an IPv4 address, weekly backups, Wanguard DDoS filtering and a managed firewall. CPU power is burstable through a credit system. Servers run in 10 locations, two in the US. Cloud GPUs are a separate hourly service, and there are no managed databases, Kubernetes or object storage.
Best for
Individuals and small teams who are comfortable managing their own Linux server and want plenty of RAM and bandwidth for a fixed upfront price, for example to self-host apps, websites, automation tools or AI agents.
Pros
- KVM 1 includes 4 GB of RAM, 50 GB of NVMe storage and 4 TB of bandwidth a month; each larger plan doubles these and the vCPU count
- Weekly automatic backups, one IPv4 and one IPv6 address, a managed firewall and Wanguard DDoS filtering at no extra cost
- Going over the bandwidth limit slows the server to 10 Mbps for the rest of the month instead of taking it offline
- KVM VPS plans can be refunded within 30 days of purchase, except upgrades and when another VPS was refunded in the past 180 days
- Hourly cloud GPUs as a separate prepaid service, from $0.42 an hour for an NVIDIA RTX 4090
Cons
- Advertised prices are discounted first terms: KVM 1 renews at $11.99 a month on a 24-month term ($287.76 upfront), $12.99 on 12 months and $19.49 on monthly billing
- No hourly or per-second billing: every plan is paid upfront for 1, 12 or 24 months
- Burstable CPU: sustained use above 60% of the allocated vCPUs drains credits, and an empty balance limits CPU until the credits rebuild
- No managed databases, managed Kubernetes or object storage; databases and S3-compatible storage run as self-managed apps on the server
- Only two US locations (Phoenix and Boston), and moving a VPS to another location means reinstalling it, which deletes its data and backups
