Fish Audio is an AI voice platform from Hanabi AI Inc., built on its own text-to-speech models (S2.1 Pro, and Drama 3 since October 2026) and a community library of more than 2 million user-uploaded voices. You can clone a voice from a short audio sample, design a new voice from a text description on paid plans, and assemble long-form, multi-speaker audio such as audiobooks in Story Studio. Speech to text, a voice changer, sound effects and audio separation sit in the same app. The Plus plan and higher also include talking-photo avatars and video generation through third-party models such as Seedance, Kling, Veo and HeyGen Avatar 4. Plans run on monthly credits shared across voice, image and video: Free gives 8,000 credits (up to 7 minutes) for personal use only, and Plus costs $15 a month with commercial use. The developer API is pay-as-you-go, with no subscription.

Best for

Creators, audiobook narrators and developers who want expressive AI voices, quick voice cloning or a pay-as-you-go speech API, and who are happy with short third-party video clips or build visuals in another tool.

Pros

  • Instant voice cloning from a short audio sample (its pages say 10 to 30 seconds); paid plans add Professional Voice Clone slots (1 on Plus, 5 on Pro, 15 on Max)
  • Plus costs $15 a month, or $132 a year, for 250,000 credits (up to 200 minutes of speech) with commercial use
  • More than 2 million community voices in the Voice Library, usable without cloning your own
  • Pay-as-you-go API with no subscription: S2.1 Pro costs $15 per million UTF-8 bytes, and a free S2.1 Pro model (fair-use limits) runs through November 30, 2026
  • Talking avatars and video generation share the same credits on Plus and higher, through models such as Seedance, Kling, Veo and HeyGen Avatar 4

Cons

  • The Free plan is for personal, non-commercial use only, with 500 characters per generation and no Voice Design or Professional Voice Clone
  • Avatars and video run on third-party models and need the Plus plan or higher; most clips last up to about 10 seconds (30 seconds on Seedance 2.5 and WAN 3.0)
  • Language support is stated inconsistently: 83 languages for S2.1 Pro in the docs, 30+ on the home page and 8 on the text-to-speech page
  • A large price step from Pro ($100 a month) to Max ($999 a month), with no plan in between
  • Unused monthly credits do not roll over to the next month
