Base44 is an AI app builder that Wix bought in June 2025. You describe an app, website or AI agent in plain language, and its AI chat writes a React front end and sets up the database, user logins and hosting. In Discuss mode you plan a change before anything is built, Edit mode changes the design when you click the preview, and paid plans let you edit the source in a Code tab. From the Builder plan you can pick Claude, Gemini or GPT models, sync the code both ways with GitHub, and let your own coding agent work in the app's cloud sandbox.
Usage is counted in credits. Free includes 25 message credits a month, at most 5 a day, and up to 5 apps. Paid plans cost $20, $50 and $100 a month, Elite from $200, or 20% less billed yearly.
Best for
People without a development team who want a working web app, internal tool or customer portal with its database, logins and hosting included, and developers who want a quick start they can later sync to GitHub.

- On every plan below Enterprise, Business included, your workspace data can be used to train AI models, with no opt-out setting
- Unused credits expire when they reset each month, and plan fees are non-refundable
